My field notes
Landed in Boston with no plan past dinner and ended up in a private booth playing cutthroat Uno with a table of strangers who cheated like it was their job. That's the trick of this place — it's basically a pool hall for pongers: ping-pong tables, giant Jenga, Connect 4, a photo booth, food, craft beer, and enough room that nobody's on top of each other. Definitely a spot for the hipsters and the whole scene — not usually my crowd, but nobody's staring at a phone. Everybody's mid-game, talking trash, and twenty minutes in you've got nicknames. Walked in knowing nobody, walked out with a crew for the rest of the night. Boston's supposed to be full of angry people. Couldn't prove it here.
